Background

The client faced considerable difficulties in delivering a scheme for a large town centre hotel due to inadequacies of car parking on-site and access arrangements. The site benefited from only six parking spaces.

RGP’s Approach

RGP were instructed to deal with the matter and developed a range of off-site improvements to pedestrian routes locally, linking the site with public car parks provision, and with coach drop off and other car drop off facilities in this tourist dominated city. Careful review of car parking across the city, demonstrated that suitable car park numbers were available for the hotel.

Persuasive negotiations with the Local Authorities clinched the Planning Consent with ‘zero parking’.
