RGP is well regarded as a professional team of Transport Planning and Infrastructure Design Consultants, renowned for consistently achieving infrastructure solutions that save its clients' money, generate income, and protect their interests.
Successful Transport Planning is an art and social, economic and engineering science, which relies upon clear professional appreciation and understanding of the facts and issues in the context of policy design and community interest.
This philosophy, and the application of technical guidance with flare and innovation generates effective and valuable Transport Planning solutions. The adage..."There are no new ideas in Civil Engineering, just adaptations of old ones" has only limited place at RGP!
RGP is based in Godalming, Surrey and has twelve staff, ten are project professionals and two provide essential effective administrative support. We will work UK wide, but historically our projects are generally concentrated in the south of England. The link shows the Local Authority areas that RGP has worked with.
Virtually all of the Company's instructions arise from recommendation and repeat business covering all aspects of Transport Planning and Design, from inception of a project to its implementation and supervision.
Instructions principally come from the private sector with around 5% of our work coming from Local Government.
RGP's experience and expertise has proven successful across the development spectrum, specifically on residential, retail, leisure, office, distribution and industrial projects, education and healthcare, and mixed use schemes. We are also regularly called upon to provide policy advice to developers and investors, and to represent them as Expert Witness, for example in respect of Compulsory Purchase Orders and at Public Inquiry generally.
RGP advises its clients' on all Transport Planning and infrastructure design matters, and flood risk assessment, from inception of a project through to implementation and monitoring. In the course of our involvement, RGP is often instructed to advise and prepare documents on transport and land-use policy, movement accessibility and transport impact, estate designs and designs for off-site works, travel plans, legal agreements and safety audits.
The early stage of our involvement in a project is vital when, if called upon, we would typically prepare a feasibility appraisal and strategy document on transport matters to identify and prioritise issues, and the constraints, parameters, methodologies and procedures likely to be needed to find solutions. These can be as simple as what we call "Look-see" appraisals, which have proved very popular amongst house builders especially.
In addition to transport, we can provide a flood risk assessment.
